Deputy Jackson & Lt. Roper to Lead District Security Planning
May 2, 2018
As Cabot Public Schools moves forward with the millage proposal, the district has been asked about planning and implementation of our security planning.
Our Director of Safety and Security Deputy Keri Jackson and our new Assistant Director of Safety and Security Lt. Dwayne Roper will lead the Cabot School District's security planning.
Deputy Jackson has been in law enforcement for 15 years. She spent nine years with the Cabot Police Department and also served as a Special Agent with the Arkansas Attorney General's Office. Deputy Jackson has been with the Cabot School District for the last five years.
Lt. Dwayne Roper has 32 years law enforcement experience. He has served with the Cabot Police Department for the past 27 years and like Deputy Jackson, is deputized with the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office. This permits them to be armed and gives them arrest powers. Prior to working with the Cabot Police Department, Lt. Roper served as an Auxiliary Officer with Ward.
Both Deputy Jackson and Lt. Roper are employees of the Cabot School District. Lt. Roper is retiring from the Cabot Police Department and officially begins full-time with the district on July 1st.
Superintendent Dr. Tony Thurman says Deputy Jackson and Lt. Roper are experts in their field and are extremely qualified to lead our security team.
“Deputy Jackson and Lt. Roper bring a combined 47 years of experience to our district and will coordinate all security planning and implementation as we move forward to best provide safety and security to our students and staff."
