District Back to School Meeting 2018-2019 — Prepare for Take-Off
August 7, 2018
Cabot School District faculty and staff packed the Cabot High School Auditorium Tuesday, August 7th, for the district Back to School meeting as we prepare to "take-off” into a new year.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Tammy Tucker opened the meeting and addressed teachers along with Cabot School Board President Sarah Owen.
Superintendent Dr. Tony Thurman welcomed several guests including Cabot Mayor Bill Cypert, Kim Usery with the Cabot Scholarship Foundation, Renee Johnson with the Cabot Classroom Teacher Association, Travis Young with Cabot Parks and Recreation, Dr. Allison Greenwood with the Arkansas State Teachers Association, and Wynonne Dwiggins and Shelly Clopper with the Wade Knox Child Advocacy Center. Susan Vaught with the Cabot Panther Foundation also spoke about an upcoming event benefitting our students, "Cabot's Got Talent."

Cabot School Board Vice President Corey Williams, Secretary Brian Evans, Pam Clem, Marvin Jones, Donna Nash, and Joe Trusty were also in attendance. Dr. Thurman also addressed teachers about the upcoming school year and shared his goals and expectations as they headed back into the classroom.
The meeting ended with a hilarious video of Dr. Thurman and our Director of Student Services Michael Byrd participating in the district's version of “Undercover Boss.”
It was a great back to school meeting and we look forward to another great year. We can't wait to see students back to school, Monday, August 13th.
