Free Breakfast & Lunch Extended — Free/Reduced Applications Still Accepted

October 15, 2020

Cabot Public Schools is happy to announce that the USDA has extended the free breakfast/lunch meals for all students (on-site & digital) through the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

Even though students are not required to pay for meals this school year, it is extremely important for families who qualify to still complete a free and reduced meal application.

Why should I complete the application if I'm receiving free meals now?

Based on the percentage of students who qualify for free/reduced price meals, Cabot Public Schools receives both state and federal funds. At this time, our applications are significantly lower compared to this time last year. The district uses these funds for a district social worker, math/literacy/dyslexia interventionists to help struggling learners, as well as MANY other academic needs.

Not only does completing the application provide extra funding for the district, families who qualify for free/reduced price meals receive extra benefits including:

  • Access to ACT testing at no cost to the family

  • Access to two concurrent credit (college classes) opportunities at no cost to the family

  • Other support services as they become available through grants

In order for our district to receive these funds for the next school year, we need you (on-site & digital parents) to please submit your free/reduced price meal applications this school year. PLEASE do this as soon as possible.

It is fast, easy, and you can do it online by clicking HERE or you can pick up an application at your school office.

If you have any questions, please contact our Food Service Department at 501-843-3363.
