Fred Campbell Takes Oath of Office for Cabot School Board
July 8, 2014

Fred Campbell was sworn in as a school board member Monday, July 7 to fill position 4 of the Cabot School Board.
This position became vacant when Wendel Msall resigned from the board on June 10, 2014.
Mr. Campbell previously served on the Cabot School Board for twelve and a half years ending in 2011. The appointment will last until the regularly scheduled election for this position in September 2015. Mr. Campbell does not intend to run for this position, so there will not be an incumbent candidate for the September 2015 election.

A banker by trade, he was instrumental in opening branches of First Security Bank and Bank of the Ozarks in Cabot. He was a member and past president of the Cabot Jaycees, Cabot Lions Club, and the Mortgage Bankers Association of Arkansas.
Mr. Campbell also served on the board of directors for the Cabot Chamber of Commerce, Open Arms Shelter, and as the director of the North Lonoke County Senior Citizens Commission. His volunteer work and dedication to our community are unprecedented as shown through his service. In 2004, Mr. Campbell was nominated for the Citizen of the Year Award. He currently serves on the Cabot Scholarship Foundation.
Mr. Campbell and his wife, Linda, have two grown children, Terri Eide and Johnny Campbell, and four grandchildren, who attend or have graduated from the district. Mrs. Campbell worked for the Cabot School District for 28 years and has continued to volunteer in many capacities throughout the district since her retirement in 2009. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell are active members at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Mr. Campbell is dedicated to providing the best opportunities for our students, and we appreciate his willingness to serve for the next year in this appointed position.
