Pumpkins Transform Into Storybook Characters at Magness Creek Elementary
October 30, 2014

Pumpkins are coming to life in the form of storybook characters at Magness Creek Elementary. More than 70 pumpkins have been transformed into fish, monsters, spiders, pigs and princesses.
It's all part of the Magness Creek Pumpkin Storybook Character Contest. This is the second year for the event and Library Teacher Kathy Skidmore says it's been extremely successful. Principal Kelly Bankston says it promotes family involvement and is a lot of fun.
Cabot Mayor Bill Cypert and Senator Eddie Joe Williams stopped by to judge the event. Both had a hard time choosing the winners. Students whose pumpkins place 1st, 2nd or 3rd win Sonic gift cards, books and posters.
