August School Board Recognition 2018

September 4, 2018

A special teacher was recognized and an incredible donation was presented to the district during the August school board meeting.

2018 Outstanding Biology Teacher – SueAnn Whisker

Cabot High School's biology teacher SueAnn Whisker was recently named the 2018 Outstanding Biology Teacher for Arkansas by The National Association of Biology Teachers!

Mrs. Whisker has been teaching for two decades and this is her 15th year with the Cabot School District. She currently teaches Pre-AP and AP Biology at Cabot High School.  She is also the high school Science Department Chair.

As for her teaching philosophy, Mrs. Whisker says, “I am a believer in the idea that students don't care what you know until they know that you care.”

Mrs. Whisker has been awarded 12 Life Impact Diplomas from graduating seniors who feel she has made the most impact in their lives. Congratulations Mrs. Whisker!

Backpack for Kids

For the fourth year in a row, Cabot Church of Christ has donated $10,000 to our Backpack for Kids program. Overall, in 13 years, they have donated over $100,000 to our students!

The Backpack for Kids program was started by Cabot Middle School South teachers Becky and Chester Brown. They felt a calling to give back and help students in need. They took their cause to their congregation and church members have been donating to the program ever since. Cory Spruiell, Outreach Minister at Cabot Church of Christ also attended the board meeting to present the donation.

On behalf of the Cabot School District, thank you Cabot Church of Christ for continuing to support our kids!
