Rob Scott, Cabot Schools New Strength and Conditioning Coach

January 18, 2019

The Cabot School District is proud to introduce Rob Scott, the new Strength and Conditional Coach for Cabot Athletics. Coach Scott has only been with the district for six months and he is already making a difference in our student athletes. Prior to accepting the position at Cabot, Scott was the University of Arkansas's Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Coach Scott works with all our student athletes in 7th-12th grades. That includes 81 teams in 15 sports! He not only helps improve their athletic performance, reduce athletic injuries, but is teaching lifelong fitness and movement skills. Coach Scott also educates our students on nutrition and self-esteem. Students say his coaching is helping them in the classroom academically as well.

Coach Scott graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2013 with a Bachelor's in Science and Education with an emphasis in Kinesiology.  Following graduation, Scott was hired by the University of Arkansas Athletic Department as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.  He was in charge of women's soccer, women's cross country, and both men's and women's tennis.

Coach Scott's responsibilities included a prescription of year-long training programs in and out of competition seasons, supervision of all athletes in the weight room, and education of athletes and coaches in proper exercise technique.  His teams earned national championships (women's indoor & outdoor track and field), conference championships (three times in SEC cross country competition), and appeared in NCAA tournament play (women's soccer and women's tennis).

Coach Scott holds several certifications: He is a certified strength and conditioning (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), United State America Weightlifting Level 1, USAW L1, Reflexive Performance Reset Level 1 (RPR L1), and is a Certified Speed and Agility Coach with the National Sports Performance Association.

Coach Scott is extremely excited about his new position in Cabot. “It has been a real pleasure working with all the Panther athletes. Every athlete has shown great effort and true grit. Training athletes to get stronger, faster and more athletic is the easy part of my job. Teaching athletes work ethic and commitment is the hard part of the job. However, that has been, by far, the easiest part of working here with all the Cabot athletic coaches.”

Coach Scott hopes to give every student the opportunity to become better conditioned athletes and ultimately achieve the Division 1 experience. His overall goal is to not only prepare them for competition, but for life.

We are glad to have Coach Scott a part of the Cabot Panther family!
