Cabot Junior High Students to View Chasing the Dragon

November 9, 2017

Cabot Junior High North and Cabot Junior High South students will soon have the opportunity to watch a powerful video about opioid addiction.

Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict video was produced by the FBI. The video was recently shown to approximately 25,000 Arkansas students, including 9th-12th graders in Cabot.

Cabot Public Schools is now making this video available to our 7th and 8th grade students on Thursday, November 16th, and Friday, November 17th. Along with watching the video, there will be time for discussion as well.

Viewing Schedule

CJHN: November 16th & 17th (Video will be shown building wide during Navigation Time)

CJHS: November 16th & 17th (social studies classes)

Due to the use of strong language, parents can opt out and chose not to have their student view the video by sending their child's school a written request. Students will participate in an alternate activity.

An automated phone call will go out to parents of 7th and 8th graders Tuesday night, November 14th.

If you would like to preview the video yourself and see the version that will be shown to our students, click HERE. Here is a link to the Discussion Guide as well.

The unedited version can be viewed on YouTube. Search for “Chasing the Dragon FBI.”
