K-Kids
K-Kids, an organization that teachers leadership through acts of service to 3rd and 4th grade students, is sponsored by the local Kiwanis Club. Students participate in school and local service projects, and are able to take on leadership responsibilities with the club.
This year students worked on a service project that involves collecting coke tabs for the local Ronald McDonald House. The tabs are donated to the Ronald McDonald House, which then recycles them and uses proceeds to provide housing for families of sick children at Little Rock Children's Hospital. (On April 19, 2012, Cabot's K-Kids and Builder's Clubs donated over 500 pounds of pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House. Magness Creek Elementary won the overall contest with 249 pounds of tabs.)
Additional service projects that the students have worked on included 2012 Relay for Life and fundraising for animal support through the National Wildlife Federation.
