Bus Stop Location Guidelines

ALL bus stop locations MUST be approved by the Transportation Office.  Drivers are not permitted to establish new stop locations.

All bus stop locations are subject to review. Changes of location are determined by the Transportation Department with safety and efficiency in mind.

When possible, bus stops will be located at:

• A corner of an intersection

• The middle of a long block

• A home address in an isolated areas

• A home address for rural two-lane highways

Bus stops will not be located at:

• An intersection controlled by a traffic signal

• A point within 300 feet of a traffic signal

• A place of business or daycare

• An address on a multi-lane road with more than 3 lanes

• Any location that causes the bus to back or turn around (if possible)

• Any location determined to be unsafe by the Transportation Department
